Patrik Ervell’s Forest

It’s time you got lost in the Ervell Forest; forest print is the new camo. Trust me.

I have been closely following the career of Patrik Ervell since his debut at Opening Ceremony in 2005. Since then he has gone on to receive nominations for the CFDA’s Swarovski Award for Menswear in 2008, 2009 and 2010. In 2011 he was nominated for GQ’s Best New Menswear Designer in America; someone should tell GQ he isn’t that new. All this is to say, he shouldn’t be new to you. His fall collection was notable for its Forest Print fabric – I must own the jacket and the pants. If you are cocky enough – you should rock them together. You know I would.

Christian has been a cultural and style junkie since the age of 6; while most kids were swiping cookies, he was swiping his grandfathers' Patek Philippe. Raised to appreciate art, fashion, design and  literature (yeah, this one actually reads) by a single mother fondly called Jackie-O. Christian quickly went from childhood cultural capital thief to academia protégé. Referred to as the cat's meow by some, too clever by half by others, Christian eschewed the academic life and ran away to join the circus -the fashion circus. Several well-appointed positions later and a career on the rise would be most people's dream but it was time to say fuck off and start all over again.

This is Christian Dare Unedited.
