I had the unfortunate opportunity to taste a margarita from Jimmy Buffet’s Margaritaville. Let me tell you, they really should take the name away from him. It was awful (and let’s not go into what circumstances brought me to such a place – one word, Bachelorette). But the margarita is the perfect warm weather drink – make every day Cinco de Mayo.
- 2 ounces Tequila Don Julio Reposado
- 1 1/2 oz. triple sec
- 1 to 1 1/4 oz. of lime juice
- Salt for the rim of the glass
1. Shake all the ingredients with cracked ice in a cocktail shaker until the exterior frosts.
2. Strain into a glass over rocks in a lowball ( I hate margarita glasses).
