Spring time is fast approaching, or at least we hope it is, and instead of turning to your usual suspect, the trench coat, perhaps it is time to rediscover the Mac. And if you are going to get a Mac coat, you need to go back to some of the originators – Mackintosh or Hancock. It may have been called the Mac thanks to Mackintosh but I prefer the coats Hancock is making these days.
Hancock, of Scotland, first started making coats in the early 1800s. This cotton-blend rain coat is constructed using a time-tested vulcanization method (in fact, Thomas Hancock invented the process of vulcanizing rubber); each seam is glued, water-proofed with rubber tape then stitched for extra strength. This Mac will last you a life time. The Navy/Combination is the perfect modern update to the classic shape (and I do love the lavender lining).
