I am sure by now that many of you have heard that Thom Browne, the boy genius behind the shrunken grey suits, is launching a new line for FW14, if not, read more WWD please. The line, simply called “Thom Browne“, will include similar items—suits, shirts, coats—but with “slightly less extreme” proportions than what can be seen in the runway collection, Thom Browne New York. According to Browne, the new line will be for those who already like his design aesthetic but perhaps want more “classic proportion and fit” and who “appreciate classic, well-made clothing.” In other words, longer pants and wider collars. In my words – not Thom Browne. If you can’t wear Thom Browne New York, maybe you shouldn’t be wearing Thom. Skip this watered down version. Love you Thom.
