The internet has been buzzing with the news that Marc Jacobs will be leaving Louis Vuitton after 16 years with the legendary house. Personally, I am happy to see new blood at LV (Nicolas Ghesquière? Yes please) and for Marc to stretch his wings in other ways. But I will wax with nostalgia over the 3 ways Marc changed Vuitton forever.

1. Marc goes naked for Stephen Sprouse. The Sprouse collection was a significant collaboration with a significant modern artists that still rings modern today.

2. He brought us Madonna. The return to the French roots of the House provided for a beautiful collection – amazing shoes and I still love the bunny ears.

3. He introduced much of the Western world to the amazing artist Yayoi Kusama.

3.1 The Nurses. How could anyone forget the nurses?

Christian has been a cultural and style junkie since the age of 6; while most kids were swiping cookies, he was swiping his grandfathers' Patek Philippe. Raised to appreciate art, fashion, design and  literature (yeah, this one actually reads) by a single mother fondly called Jackie-O. Christian quickly went from childhood cultural capital thief to academia protégé. Referred to as the cat's meow by some, too clever by half by others, Christian eschewed the academic life and ran away to join the circus -the fashion circus. Several well-appointed positions later and a career on the rise would be most people's dream but it was time to say fuck off and start all over again.

This is Christian Dare Unedited.
