I have to admit that I am not one of those men who have a signature scent and to be totally honest, I think few men are anymore. There are too many great scents out there to stick to just one for your lifetime. Further, I think fragrance is all about time and place and memories. Therefore I think it’s great to have a selection of scents you love for different occasions, different times, different feelings. Enter Bleu de Chanel. Created by Olivier Polge, in cooperation with the CHANEL Laboratory of Fragrance Creation and Development, this new fragrance unleashes all the power of the original BLEU DE CHANEL to evoke a serene intensity that gradually fills the space..This is deep, blue intensity.
Now I have to admit that I have been a big fan of Bleu de Chanel since it first launched. It feels like the perfect summery scent (which I sometimes wear in the winter as well to be honest). The brand’s latest incarnation, Bleu de Chanel Parfum is reminiscent of the first Bleu with that original woody and aromatic DNA blend of citrus, mint, patchouli, cedar and sandalwood notes. But Bleu Parfum feels a bit more crisp and more invigorating. More intense. Soothing lavender and elegant geranium however, replace the very heady jasmine flower found in the original Eau de Toilette. Further evidence that this should be in heavy rotation for the summer months? The addition of sweet pineapple, fresh green notes and warm amberwood and tonka beans give it a new intensity. It’s like a hot summer romance.
