KOTN was founded on the idea that well made basics could be luxurious and affordable. The brand was born in Canada but with a foothold in Egypt. And although they make lots of great basics, I am particularly fond of their KOTN tee.
The main concept behind KOTN is cotton itself. Not just any cotton but the finest Egyptian cotton you can source. Grown in only one place in the world — the Nile Delta — Egypt’s “white gold” is finer, softer, and more breathable than any other cotton. But the brand takes it a step further and controls the entire process through working with local tradespeople. They make their own fabrics from raw cotton bought direct from farmers at guaranteed prices. The cotton is then sent to their cut-and-sew factory outside Alexandria. The responsibly-run operation employs locals, securing their craft and their livelihood. By scrapping the middleman, they ensured a fair wage for them, and an honest price for you. It is almost like farm-to-table put for your clothing.
Not only is the brand one that I can support due its responsible production but this just might be the best KOTN tee I have ever worn. Trust me. The essential crew and v are classics fits that should be a part of everyone’s wardrobe. But I am particularly fond of the scoop – a modern cut with a subtle scoop neck and a round baseball style hem.
