If you are not familiar with the Cooper Hewitt, where have you been living? Under a non-designed rock? Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum, is the only museum in the US devoted exclusively to historic and contemporary design. This makes it a must see for any design fanatic.
Over the past several years, the museum has been working with notable designers, artists, and architects to reinterpret their vast inventory of over 210,000 objects – this is called the Selects series. For the next installment (their 13th), fashion designer Thom Browne explores ideas of reflection and individuality with an installation that includes more than 50 of the museum’s historic and contemporary mirrors and frames.
Exhibition on view from March 4 through October 23, 2016
