As you all know by now that I have a shoe addiction. I am sure I own over 100 pairs – some that are still new in boxes and have never been worn (you couldn’t say no to classic Jil Sander at 80% off retail either, so don’t judge). But as part of my winter cleaning and organizing (why wait until spring?), I go through all of my shoes and rid myself of those I will never wear again. And when they are still in decent shape, I donate them. This year I will be dropping off my gently worn winter footwear to the Ron White Shoe Drive.
This month marks the 20th anniversary of the Ron White Shoe Drive and this year’s charitable partners include the CAMH (Centre for Addiction and Mental Health) Suits Me Fine program and the New Circles GLOW clothing program, which is supporting Syrian refugee families (in addition to their existing communities). Your footwear will get a new life helping new Syrian refugees in Canada and here’s the bonus – you get $50 towards a new shoe purchase.
All shoe collections are accepted at any Ron White Shoes retail location in the GTA until the 31st of January. See all locations here.
