It’s Sunday morning and we are in a deep freeze, why not stay in and have a threesome with Tom and Jerry. Trust me, this is a surefire way to stay warm all day.
This cocktail was invented by British journalist Pierce Egan in the 1820s; often dubbed an updated eggnog, it is the perfect warm winter drink.
Recipe:
- 1/2 ounce simple syrup or 1 teaspoon powdered sugar
- 1 ounce dark rum
- 1 ounce Cognac or brandy
- Hot milk
- Grated nutmeg for garnish
- Separate the egg white from the egg yolk and beat them separately.
- Fold the beaten eggs together and place into an Irish coffee glass.
- Add the sugar or simple syrup, dark rum, and brandy.
- Fill with hot milk.
- Stir well.
- Garnish with grated nutmeg.
- Enjoy
- Repeat, it’s cold out there.
