On my recent trip to LA, I re-discovered my love for a Moscow Mule. Did you know the cocktail was invented in Hollywood. It was actually conceived in the 1940’s as a promotional tool for vodka – that’s right, at the time it was a rather unfashionable spirit. This time around, I made it with the Double Black vodka Smirnoff sent me. The trick to a great mule, is to make sure you pick a great ginger beer, don’t skimp out. The result: a perfect Moscow.
- 1 oz fresh squeezed lime juice
- 2 oz Smirnoff Double Black Vodka
- Ginger Beer (my favourite – Fever Tree)
- Lime Wedge
- Candied Ginger Slice
1. Add in fresh lime juice into copper mule tankard.
2. Add in the vodka and ginger beer.
3. Add ice and stir.
4. Garnish with fresh lime wedge and candied ginger slice.
5. Enjoy.
6. Repeat.
