I have to confess to having a fondness for collecting watches yet I never wear them as of late – a drawer full of beautiful watches just keep ticking away in my room like the Poe’s Tell Tale Heart. Perhaps my psychoanalytic therapist will one day explain it all to me. In the meantime I will just keep adding to the collection. Enter Bravur.

Bravur came to life in 2011 as two Swedish industrial designers and fellow friends decided to join paths. Since they had not found what they were looking for it simply had to be created. The thought was to design a personal embellishment to act as your everyday companion and part of your stylistic self. Something to endlessly covet and allure.

I love that this brand really goes after the details. Each watch even has an individual serial number, something usually reserved to much more expensive watches. The Kurling on the sides of the face are industrial prismatic – referencing the dials on classic camera lenses. I am in love.

They ship it to you in a beautiful box with a leather case. Understated perfection.

Christian has been a cultural and style junkie since the age of 6; while most kids were swiping cookies, he was swiping his grandfathers' Patek Philippe. Raised to appreciate art, fashion, design and  literature (yeah, this one actually reads) by a single mother fondly called Jackie-O. Christian quickly went from childhood cultural capital thief to academia protégé. Referred to as the cat's meow by some, too clever by half by others, Christian eschewed the academic life and ran away to join the circus -the fashion circus. Several well-appointed positions later and a career on the rise would be most people's dream but it was time to say fuck off and start all over again.

This is Christian Dare Unedited.
