Tiger of Sweden is marking its 110 year anniversary with something different – they have created a Tiger of Sweden Tartan. Interesting move from a country that once ravaged the Scottish highlands during the era of the Vikings.
The head designer, of Scottish Nationality, Ronnie McDonald had the idea that Tiger is like a clan – this clan is a group whose kinship is defined by having worked for Tiger. But a clan is not a real clan without its own Tartan. As such, Ronnie set about to create Tiger’s own tartan as a tribute to everyone who has ever worked at Tiger. The new Tartan was woven on a hand loom by Daniel Harris at London Cloth Co (and the the pattern was registered at The Scottish Register of Tartans as Tiger’s Official Tartan), guess that makes it legit as possible for a Swedish Tartan. You can get your own piece of Tiger Tartan this Spring, but hurry as this is a very limited collection.
