On a day that is supposed to be all about LOVE – this seemed like the best post to post. Forget about the flowers, the gifts, the dinners…that is not love. But this just might be…
I am assuming that by now you all have seen the new Barneys’ Spring Campaign: Brothers, Sisters, Sons & Daughters, which stars 17 transgender models and their families and friends. The Bruce Weber shot images are stunning, I have always been a big fan of Weber but I also loved that you can read all their inspiring stories as part of the campaign. But did you know there is more?
Last night, Barneys New York premiered the 36-minute film by Bruce Weber, and you can watch it here. Trust, it’s worth the watch.
Barneys New York partnered with the National Center for Transgender Equality and the LGBT Community Center in New York City for this campaign, with hopes to help break stereotypes and build social acceptance of the transgender community with this campaign. And in that spirit, Barneys will donate 10% of all sales today from their 11 flagship stores nationwide and Barneys.com to these organizations.
I hardly need an excuse to shop, but I’d say this is a pretty good one. So on a day that is supposed to be all about LOVE – maybe it’s time to spread that love around.
