There are a few things I seem to collect in life: books, chairs and lights. All in excess but all with one connecting idea: clever design. I don’t need them and as a minimalist they end up in a closet and only come out in rotation. Enter one more light I feel I can’t live without. Lumio is the first product from a studio dedicated to helping people live large with less. The studio is focused on multi-functional, everyday objects that are simple, intuitive and beautiful. Offering a discrete, portable and rechargeable lighting alternative is Lumio, a book-shaped lamp. The inspiration for the light came from the idea of a modular home that could fold flat for transportation, the lamp is designed to adapt to a multitude of environments with its accordion-like structure. As the cover is opened its pages fan out to emit 500 lumens of LED light, creating an ideal environment for late night reading or setting the mood. This shit is clever.
