Hot, humid Toronto summers are often cursed with unexpected torrential downpours. One recent downpour sent me fleeing inside a pop-up store on Ossington. As this blog isn’t about promoting Brands for their own sake – I will keep this short and simple – the store was filled with many homegrown brands but only two stuck out – VitalyDesign and monte & coe. They both make some cool shit.
monte&coe “is focused on craftsmanship and design; each piece is hand-made in Toronto, in limited batch sizes, to ensure that it represents an unparalleled dedication to originality and versatility”. Each bag is made with imported wool felt from Italy and genuine leather. Price point is excellent at $429.
The bag collection is tight and focuses on one body shape – the best model by far is the Westpoint camo bag picture below. To be brutally honest, the least interesting of the bags are the ones that are sold out – so snatch up the rest of them before they are gone.
