Gifted: Giving Back

Brass Cuff with Diamond, $275 from The Caliber Collection

I have always been a big fan of the work over at The Caliber Collection since I first discovered them a few years back. The brand is known for buying back illegal guns and bullets off the streets and turning them into modern jewellery. Each series carries a serial number that corresponds with one of the guns that were taken off the streets of Newark by the Police Department. Embedded next to the serial number is a single diamond (approx 0.11cts); strong, precious and rare… like human life.

The diamonds used in all pieces of the Caliber Collection are conflict free diamonds.

20% of the proceeds from each purchase will be donated to the Caliber Foundation to support victims and communities devastated by illegal gun violence.

Christian has been a cultural and style junkie since the age of 6; while most kids were swiping cookies, he was swiping his grandfathers' Patek Philippe. Raised to appreciate art, fashion, design and  literature (yeah, this one actually reads) by a single mother fondly called Jackie-O. Christian quickly went from childhood cultural capital thief to academia protégé. Referred to as the cat's meow by some, too clever by half by others, Christian eschewed the academic life and ran away to join the circus -the fashion circus. Several well-appointed positions later and a career on the rise would be most people's dream but it was time to say fuck off and start all over again.

This is Christian Dare Unedited.
