Store of the Week: Mobilia

I was recently re-introduced to Mobilia at my friend Janette Ewen’s place. As part of the company’s 50th anniversary, they partnered with Janette to re-introduce the brand to the Canadian media. Her pad was the perfect mixture of chic modern glam with a hint of humour. And almost everything from the store. I was in love. I have been putting my shopping list together ever since.

If you are looking for anything for your place, consider checking out Mobilia. Yes, this may mean a trek out to the suburbs but it is worth it. I found so many great pieces; I always gravitate towards chairs and lighting. You can never have too many chairs, right? But I also found some great bar carts, accent tables, and even beds.

Shop great design. Shop Canadian. Shop Mobilia (and no they haven’t paid me – I am not that kinda guy).

Christian has been a cultural and style junkie since the age of 6; while most kids were swiping cookies, he was swiping his grandfathers' Patek Philippe. Raised to appreciate art, fashion, design and  literature (yeah, this one actually reads) by a single mother fondly called Jackie-O. Christian quickly went from childhood cultural capital thief to academia protégé. Referred to as the cat's meow by some, too clever by half by others, Christian eschewed the academic life and ran away to join the circus -the fashion circus. Several well-appointed positions later and a career on the rise would be most people's dream but it was time to say fuck off and start all over again.

This is Christian Dare Unedited.
