American Crew Makes the Pompadour Modern

I recently caught up with the American Crew team at Toronto Men’s Fashion Week to discuss the latest trends in men’s hair. As men are becoming more and more concerned about their appearances, they are giving greater care to their haircuts and have a great appreciation of classic menswear styling (and longer styles). Overall, the American Crew team told me that they are seeing a trend towards longer men’s hair styles and more men using hair product to achieve ‘natural’ looks. The biggest trend that seems to be emerging is the return of the pompadour – Groom Like a King as the brand is naming it. Yes, Elvis is back and more modern than ever.

Christian has been a cultural and style junkie since the age of 6; while most kids were swiping cookies, he was swiping his grandfathers' Patek Philippe. Raised to appreciate art, fashion, design and  literature (yeah, this one actually reads) by a single mother fondly called Jackie-O. Christian quickly went from childhood cultural capital thief to academia protégé. Referred to as the cat's meow by some, too clever by half by others, Christian eschewed the academic life and ran away to join the circus -the fashion circus. Several well-appointed positions later and a career on the rise would be most people's dream but it was time to say fuck off and start all over again.

This is Christian Dare Unedited.
