Sweat it Out

Foreword: I am not condoning the wearing of ill-fitting sweatpants in public, in fact, I think most men should never, ever wear sweat pants in public. But if you are going to do this – you need to buy good sweatpants. If Thom Browne says we can wear sweatpants, why can’t we? Yes this basically, means you have to spend $$$. Besides, if Thom Browne says we can wear sweatpants, why can’t we?

Enter Matthew Davies and Twyford.  First created in 2013 with a vision to design comfortable yet sophisticated sweatpants (yes this seems like an oxymoron but lets go with it), Twyford aims to make a better sweatpants. Do they succeed?

Yes, the structured sweatpants avoid the pitfalls of most sweatpants through clever design and slimmer cuts. They may look sophisticated and be comfortable but this is not an excuse to wear them everywhere. Trust me. It’s a slippery slope from laid back sophisticated to scally. If you are style amateur, keep those sweatpants for the gym only. For the rest of us, incorporate these into your wardrobe as a new staple – especially the moto pair.

Christian has been a cultural and style junkie since the age of 6; while most kids were swiping cookies, he was swiping his grandfathers' Patek Philippe. Raised to appreciate art, fashion, design and  literature (yeah, this one actually reads) by a single mother fondly called Jackie-O. Christian quickly went from childhood cultural capital thief to academia protégé. Referred to as the cat's meow by some, too clever by half by others, Christian eschewed the academic life and ran away to join the circus -the fashion circus. Several well-appointed positions later and a career on the rise would be most people's dream but it was time to say fuck off and start all over again.

This is Christian Dare Unedited.
