You don’t know Louis

If you don’t know Louis by now, you will never ever know Louis.

Louis Leeman. So get on it, a brand every shoe lover should know. After all it is much more fun drop a more obscure name, rather than always saying Loubs, when asked who’s shoes are those? (Psst: although you really should always just answer “Mine” to that question)

Louis Leeman is known for their hand-made Italian shoes for men inspired by the bespoke tailoring tradition of Savile Row but also Camden town (the grittier alternative and industrial neighborhood). With these two polar opposite inspirations, you get a somewhat frantic collection; which is good and bad. You’ll see. As their website states: “Leeman’s collection offers a wide variety of styles for the Dandy man to the Beatnik from Kerouac’s 50’s and 60’s Beat Generation to the illuminated hipsters taking over America in a beautiful and in an ugly graceful new way”. What? One look at the variety of shoes they sell you will be able see what I mean.

Here are my edited choices from collection that covers everything from overly beaded dress shoes to ‘fashion’ sneakers and everything in between.

Christian has been a cultural and style junkie since the age of 6; while most kids were swiping cookies, he was swiping his grandfathers' Patek Philippe. Raised to appreciate art, fashion, design and  literature (yeah, this one actually reads) by a single mother fondly called Jackie-O. Christian quickly went from childhood cultural capital thief to academia protégé. Referred to as the cat's meow by some, too clever by half by others, Christian eschewed the academic life and ran away to join the circus -the fashion circus. Several well-appointed positions later and a career on the rise would be most people's dream but it was time to say fuck off and start all over again.

This is Christian Dare Unedited.
