I have been a fan of the Railroad Spike collection from Giles & Brother since the brand first emerged on the scene. I have not yet wrapped one around my wrist but that may soon change with their new partnership with Liberty United. The Liberty United brand was first founded to try to reduce illegal firearms in Africa through partnerships with local governments; together they have collected weapons and melted them down into accessories. So now the Railroad spike has more meaning and, the cool bit, the serial number of the gun that was melted down to make it. I love this because it makes the piece even more graphic; I love typography. NB 25% of the proceeds go toward funding anti-gun violence groups in the USA.

Christian has been a cultural and style junkie since the age of 6; while most kids were swiping cookies, he was swiping his grandfathers' Patek Philippe. Raised to appreciate art, fashion, design and  literature (yeah, this one actually reads) by a single mother fondly called Jackie-O. Christian quickly went from childhood cultural capital thief to academia protégé. Referred to as the cat's meow by some, too clever by half by others, Christian eschewed the academic life and ran away to join the circus -the fashion circus. Several well-appointed positions later and a career on the rise would be most people's dream but it was time to say fuck off and start all over again.

This is Christian Dare Unedited.
