CB2 Does Vintage: Ferrer Curates the Collection

I am always on the hunt for unique pieces to add into my home (or a clients home). And often that great piece is found at a flea market or a great antique store in some small town I happen to be driving through. But it is often a hunt. Morever, many of these trips turn up empty handed. It is an endless feat. And i have learned over the years to just buy pieces I love when I see them, even if I do not have a home for them yet. If you wait, you often lose out.

Now I know that since design is an intrinsic part of my life (duh, it’s my job), I have the time (and luxury) to always be on the lookout for furniture and accessories. And I know this is not the case for everyone. But I can say that everyone and every home could benefit from a unique vintage piece – be it an 18th century antique armoire to a mid century chair or a modern vase. It instantly addes personality and depth. It makes any home look curated over time not thrown together over one weekend trip to two or three home stores. Enter CB2 x Ferrer.

The collection, dropping in select stores, is a unique assortment of rare European pieces selected in collaboration with the designer and curator Charlie Ferrer. Charlie scouted the finest dealers, shops and galleries in Europe to gather original vintage treasures rich in history and typically unavailable to the everyday shopper. That’s right, you basically get one of the world’s greatest curators of beautiful things shopping just for you.
Each store will feature a different selection – each unique and one of a kind. So be sure to check out your local CB2 now.

Christian has been a cultural and style junkie since the age of 6; while most kids were swiping cookies, he was swiping his grandfathers' Patek Philippe. Raised to appreciate art, fashion, design and  literature (yeah, this one actually reads) by a single mother fondly called Jackie-O. Christian quickly went from childhood cultural capital thief to academia protégé. Referred to as the cat's meow by some, too clever by half by others, Christian eschewed the academic life and ran away to join the circus -the fashion circus. Several well-appointed positions later and a career on the rise would be most people's dream but it was time to say fuck off and start all over again.

This is Christian Dare Unedited.
