Up Your St Paddy’s Day Cocktail Game

With St Patrick’s Day just around the corner, I am often asked what are my St Paddy’s Day plans. And to be totally honest, I think I have grown too old for packed bars, drunken revelery and green beer. Well…too old for green beer at least. So this year, I went on the hunt for some great St Paddy’s Day cocktails.

Jameson Whiskey Sour

Few drinks in the cocktail canon are as quick to satisfy and endlessly mutable as the Whiskey Sour. Make it with some classic Jameson Black Barrel Whiskey and you’ve got yourself a St Paddy’s Cocktail.

  • 50ml of Jameson Black Barrel
  • 25ml of freshly-squeezed lemon juice
  • 15ml of sugar syrup
  • 15ml of egg white
  • 3 dashs of sloe berry bitters
  • Cherry or lemon twist for garnish

  1. Fill a shaker with ice
  2. Add 50ml of Jameson Black Barrel
  3. Add 25ml of freshly-squeezed lemon juice
  4. Add 15ml of sugar syrup
  5. Add 15ml of egg white
  6. Add 3 dashes of sloe berry bitters
  7. Shake and strain into a chilled cocktail glass
  8. Garnish with a lemon twist

Old Fashioned

If you have never bothered to make a classic Old Fashioned at home, here is your chance. It’s much easier than you think. And your guests will be impressed. Follow these easy steps I found via Jameson.

  • 2 dashes Orange Bitters
  • Orange slice for garnish

  1. Fill a glass or jug with ice

Christian has been a cultural and style junkie since the age of 6; while most kids were swiping cookies, he was swiping his grandfathers' Patek Philippe. Raised to appreciate art, fashion, design and  literature (yeah, this one actually reads) by a single mother fondly called Jackie-O. Christian quickly went from childhood cultural capital thief to academia protégé. Referred to as the cat's meow by some, too clever by half by others, Christian eschewed the academic life and ran away to join the circus -the fashion circus. Several well-appointed positions later and a career on the rise would be most people's dream but it was time to say fuck off and start all over again.

This is Christian Dare Unedited.
