Canadian Classic: The Roots’ Nordic Boot

I can still remember my first pair of boots from Roots Canada. It was a pair of Roots TUFF boots back when I was 10 years old. I wore those boots day in and day out. I loved them so much I replaced them several times over with the exact same pair in the exact same colour over the next 10-15 years. Since then, the brand has expanded their footwear offering but I still have a soft spot for their line of boots. In fact, it might be time to invest in another pair soon. But this time I think I will opt for the Nordic Boot Warrior over the classic TUFF.

Hiking boots have become quite popular with the fashions set over the the past few seasons. Many luxury brands have offered their version of this boot but at much higher price points. But what they all have in common is a well made leather boot ‘built’ for the urban outdoor adventurer. Whether it’s out on a mountain or just battling the snowbanks and ice when shopping on 5th – these boots have become a new staple in most wardrobes. So why not buy a pair from a brand known for designing and producing good quality leather boots built for the outdoors.

The Roots’ Nordic Boot has been made to survive the harshest of climates. Made from high quality leather, the boot is fully lined with a cozy Sherpa for extra warmth. The boot also features a military grade sole that will stand up to severe heat, cold, and icy conditions.  Available in black or brown for $318 CDN. Both pairs come with two sets of laces – the red/ecru stripe and solid black or brown.

Available online or in-store.

Christian has been a cultural and style junkie since the age of 6; while most kids were swiping cookies, he was swiping his grandfathers' Patek Philippe. Raised to appreciate art, fashion, design and  literature (yeah, this one actually reads) by a single mother fondly called Jackie-O. Christian quickly went from childhood cultural capital thief to academia protégé. Referred to as the cat's meow by some, too clever by half by others, Christian eschewed the academic life and ran away to join the circus -the fashion circus. Several well-appointed positions later and a career on the rise would be most people's dream but it was time to say fuck off and start all over again.

This is Christian Dare Unedited.
