Quick question, when was the last time you used a coaster? Or when was the last time you were over at a friends for a cocktail and they had coasters? And paper/cardboard ones don’t count. I can still remember my mother and grandmother having beautiful crystal/silver coasters. These beautifully crafted little disks may seem obsolete these days but back in the day they were standard in almost every household. Sure they had utility – they protected their antiques from the dreaded rings but I also loved the whole ceremony of using one. As such, I have been on the hunt for great coasters for our second home in New Orleans – where cocktail-ing is an art. Thankfully, I managed to find many great examples of beautiful yet cheeky coasters from Jonathan Adler. Perfect for Nola.
