Stutterheim x Marni: Raincoat Perfection

It may seem weird to do a post on raincoats during the summer. But when your summer seems to have more rainy days than sunny days, you begin to wonder why you didn’t invest in a better raincoat. Umbrellas are for amateurs. Classic rubber raincoats are the better option. Enter Stutterheim. This Swedish company has made those classic rubber raincoats, we all wore as kids, cool again. And yes, you can get it in classic yellow but I am falling for their latest collab with Marni.

That’s right, Stutterheim has teamed up with Italian luxury brand Marni on an exclusive capsule collection of raincoats. In this collaboration, Swedish melancholy meets the avant-garde aesthetic and spirit of Marni. Mixing colors and patterns, the collection represents Marni’s experimental approach to design, while also reflecting the functional design of Stutterheim. The coats are handmade in the original Stutterheim Rubberized Cotton, using the unique technique of double welded seams. Here in a green and black color block men’s version, with white welded stripes and white metal buttons. Flap patch pockets.

Available in two colour ways, retail is $1100.

Christian has been a cultural and style junkie since the age of 6; while most kids were swiping cookies, he was swiping his grandfathers' Patek Philippe. Raised to appreciate art, fashion, design and  literature (yeah, this one actually reads) by a single mother fondly called Jackie-O. Christian quickly went from childhood cultural capital thief to academia protégé. Referred to as the cat's meow by some, too clever by half by others, Christian eschewed the academic life and ran away to join the circus -the fashion circus. Several well-appointed positions later and a career on the rise would be most people's dream but it was time to say fuck off and start all over again.

This is Christian Dare Unedited.
