Dior Does Decks: Kris Van Assche Sneaks us a Peak of Dior Skateboards

In the land where designers brand everything from basketballs to boomerangs, it should come as no surprise that Dior Homme is launching another capsule collection of skateboards for their fans. I mean after all I see many a skater rocking Dior these days, don’t you?

Dior Homme designer Kris Van Assche recently posted a sneak peek at the brand’s Summer 2018 skateboards (well, just the decks to be precise) on his Instagram. And it case you missed them – here they are.

Dior is no stranger to skate culture, after all the company has released a series of boards before. Back in in 2016, they dropped three limited edition designs. What’s new this time around? New colours and new prints. The three decks are styled out in tones of red, black and white. And includes prints sourced from artworks by French artist François Bard. The most on-brand favourite would be the blown out the classic Dior logo but I’m partial to ‘boy in hoodie’.

These exclusive skateboard decks will be available at select Dior boutiques but no official drop date has been released. Stay tuned.

Christian has been a cultural and style junkie since the age of 6; while most kids were swiping cookies, he was swiping his grandfathers' Patek Philippe. Raised to appreciate art, fashion, design and  literature (yeah, this one actually reads) by a single mother fondly called Jackie-O. Christian quickly went from childhood cultural capital thief to academia protégé. Referred to as the cat's meow by some, too clever by half by others, Christian eschewed the academic life and ran away to join the circus -the fashion circus. Several well-appointed positions later and a career on the rise would be most people's dream but it was time to say fuck off and start all over again.

This is Christian Dare Unedited.
