As someone who now spend almost half of the year in New Orleans but spent 20 some odd years in Quebec, it is surprising how quickly I ditched some classic quebecois booze for some southern cocktails. How can anyone pass up the charm? I have always been a fan of classic unsweet tea; my mom made it every summer when we were out on The Cape. Who knew years later, I would be brewing my own iced tea in New Orleans as the base for some great cocktails. I have tried all sort of variations on a spiked ice tea over the years (most of them end up being too sweet) and this might be my new favourite. Wodka Zoladkowa Gorzka is an herbal vodka (with hints of pepper, cinnamon and nutmeg) that adds a slightly bitter yet slightly sweet taste.

Recipe

  • 1oz Wodka Zoladkowa Gorzka
  • 8oz Fresh Brewed Unsweet Tea (chilled)
  • Slice of lemon
  • Lots of ice

Directions

  1. Fill a highball glass with ice.
  2. Add in the Wodka.
  3. Top up with tea.
  4. Squeeze in the lemon slice.
  5. Garnish with fresh lemon.
  6. Enjoy.
  7. Repeat.

Christian has been a cultural and style junkie since the age of 6; while most kids were swiping cookies, he was swiping his grandfathers' Patek Philippe. Raised to appreciate art, fashion, design and  literature (yeah, this one actually reads) by a single mother fondly called Jackie-O. Christian quickly went from childhood cultural capital thief to academia protégé. Referred to as the cat's meow by some, too clever by half by others, Christian eschewed the academic life and ran away to join the circus -the fashion circus. Several well-appointed positions later and a career on the rise would be most people's dream but it was time to say fuck off and start all over again.

This is Christian Dare Unedited.
