Anglepoise’s iconic 1930s desk lamp was British author Roald Dahl’s lighting of choice, so to celebrate a century since his birth, the lighting manufacturer is set to re-release a triple-sized version of his favorite lamp. Yes, sometimes bigger is better and in this case it is.
Originally commissioned in 2005 by the Roald Dahl Museum & Story Centre, the lamp is scaled to suit the Big Friendly Giant, one of Dahl’s best-loved characters. The lamps is available in indoor and outdoor versions in multiple colour ways. That’s right – you can take it outside. The Giant has been re-engineered for outdoor environments, incorporating marine-grade stainless steel fittings, a sealed light unit and durable silicone rubber cable.
