Souvenir Jackets

We first saw satin embroidered bomber jackets make a comeback at Saint Laurent a few seasons back – and then again during Grease live. Some people may call this a trend but the men’s satin bomber is a classic in my books – you just have to know how to rock it and choose wisely as these guys will set you back some coin. These jackets go in and out of style every ten years or so – so you might score a great one on ebay or in thrift stores. The inspiration behind these jackets: American soldiers in post-war Japan had their jackets embellished with local Japanese embroidery/imagery, so why not buy your Souvenir Jacket from Japan? We found these Sukajan Jacket for under $100.

Christian has been a cultural and style junkie since the age of 6; while most kids were swiping cookies, he was swiping his grandfathers' Patek Philippe. Raised to appreciate art, fashion, design and  literature (yeah, this one actually reads) by a single mother fondly called Jackie-O. Christian quickly went from childhood cultural capital thief to academia protégé. Referred to as the cat's meow by some, too clever by half by others, Christian eschewed the academic life and ran away to join the circus -the fashion circus. Several well-appointed positions later and a career on the rise would be most people's dream but it was time to say fuck off and start all over again.

This is Christian Dare Unedited.
