I am always looking for new ways to enjoy tequila and new tequilas to enjoy. Enter Siempre Tequila Plata – made from 100% blue weber agave and produced in tequila’s heartland Tequila, Jalisco. This is not the kind of tequila you shoot and chase with lime; this is the good shit. But not all quality tequilas are the same and they all have different flavour notes. The top note is a bit sweet but it is quickly followed by a bit of saltiness and a finishing note of lime. The brand should be on LCBO shelves by April of this year but until then you can enjoy it at many of your local bars and during Toronto Men’s Fashion Week. The signature cocktail for TOM is the Siempre Zona Rosa (named after the fashion district in Mexico City – Zona Rosa).
Recipe
- 1.25oz Siempre Tequila Plata
- 1oz Fresh Lime Juice
- 1oz Hibiscus Tea Agave Homemade Cordial
- Dried Hibiscus Flower (for the rim)
- Fresh Lime wedge (to garnish)
Directions
- Rim half an Old Fashioned Glass with dried hibiscus.
- Add Siempre Tequila Plata and the rest of the ingredients into a Boston Shaker with ice then Shake vigorously.
- Single Strain into the Old Fashioned Glass with fresh ice.
- Garnish with freshly sliced lime wedge.
- Enjoy.
- Repeat.
