You Salty Dawg

I am a gin connoisseur and I am always on the look out for a great new gin. I recently discovered Georgian Bay Gin. Yes, they make gin in Ontario. Georgian Bay Gin features wild Georgian Bay juniper, Italian juniper, Egyptian coriander, orange peel from Tuscany and lemon peel from California. I thought this might be the perfect gin to try an old classic cocktail – the Salty Dog.

Recipe

  • 1 1/2 ounces Georgian Bay gin
  • 3 ounces fresh pink grapefruit juice
  • 1/2 ounce fresh lime juice
  •  Pinch Maldon salt

Directions

  1. Add gin and grapefruit juice to a cocktail shaker and fill with ice.
  2. Shake until well chilled, about 20 seconds.
  3. Strain into ice-filled glass, add salt on top and serve.
  4. Enjoy.
  5. Repeat.

Christian has been a cultural and style junkie since the age of 6; while most kids were swiping cookies, he was swiping his grandfathers' Patek Philippe. Raised to appreciate art, fashion, design and  literature (yeah, this one actually reads) by a single mother fondly called Jackie-O. Christian quickly went from childhood cultural capital thief to academia protégé. Referred to as the cat's meow by some, too clever by half by others, Christian eschewed the academic life and ran away to join the circus -the fashion circus. Several well-appointed positions later and a career on the rise would be most people's dream but it was time to say fuck off and start all over again.

This is Christian Dare Unedited.
