My Love of Coffee (and My Nespresso)

I can’t exactly pin down when I became such an avid coffee drinker (perhaps, sometime during grad school – not that it really matters) but I can tell you when my coffee life became better – when I switched to a Nespresso machine. By now I have tried it all – old school drip (meh), French Press (my go-to before the machine) and even a Tassimo (terrible in my humble coffee opinion). Why do I love the Nespresso? Besides the ease of making a coffee in the morning and that it tastes great – I love that it use real (fresh) milk for lattes. And that you can recycle the pods (which is one reason I always hesitated going this route).

Every so often the brand launches new limited edition flavours – I got to try out UMUTIMA wa Lake Kivu (from Rwanda) and TANIM de Chiapas (from Mexico). The UMUTIMA wa Lake Kivu is very refreshing with bright, juicy fruit notes, enhanced by a delicate lingering taste. While the TANIM de Chiapas tastes a bit more bready with delicious nutty notes.

Available now.

Christian has been a cultural and style junkie since the age of 6; while most kids were swiping cookies, he was swiping his grandfathers' Patek Philippe. Raised to appreciate art, fashion, design and  literature (yeah, this one actually reads) by a single mother fondly called Jackie-O. Christian quickly went from childhood cultural capital thief to academia protégé. Referred to as the cat's meow by some, too clever by half by others, Christian eschewed the academic life and ran away to join the circus -the fashion circus. Several well-appointed positions later and a career on the rise would be most people's dream but it was time to say fuck off and start all over again.

This is Christian Dare Unedited.
