I was at a recent TIFF lounge, Stylist Suite, when I discovered a unique cuff being worn by one of the hair stylists. He told me that the cuff was made out of metal casing from bullets taken off the streets by local police forces. I was like what? What is this company? I later did a little research and discovered Caliber.

The Caliber Collection is a unisex jewellery company that works with local police forces in four of the most violent cities in the US: Newark, Detroit, Hartford and San Francisco (each city has their own unique collection). They collect the metal casings from bullets that have been taken off the streets and turn them into beautiful pieces of jewellery – each one engraved with the serial number of a gun that has also been taken off the streets. And here’s the kicker, they also donate 20% of the profits to organizations that help victims of gun violence in those cities.

Now to decide which one to buy…

ABOUT: The Caliber Foundation offers support to victims, families and communities that have been devastated by illegal gun violence.

Just as the Caliber Collection® creates opportunities for those who may never have walked the streets of America’s most dangerous cities to participate in making those cities a safer place, the Caliber Foundation connects anyone who donates with the organizations and people on the front lines of re-building lives one small act at a time.

Every day in this country lives are lost, and hearts are broken, the Caliber Foundation offers a helping hand when it is needed, acts of generosity on the parts of many, to help families and communities heal and work together to Raise The Caliber.

Christian has been a cultural and style junkie since the age of 6; while most kids were swiping cookies, he was swiping his grandfathers' Patek Philippe. Raised to appreciate art, fashion, design and  literature (yeah, this one actually reads) by a single mother fondly called Jackie-O. Christian quickly went from childhood cultural capital thief to academia protégé. Referred to as the cat's meow by some, too clever by half by others, Christian eschewed the academic life and ran away to join the circus -the fashion circus. Several well-appointed positions later and a career on the rise would be most people's dream but it was time to say fuck off and start all over again.

This is Christian Dare Unedited.
