Helmut Lang has finally re-released a collection of their signature scents after a decade long hiatus. Buy it. Buy it now. Buy two or three bottles before they disappear again. Trust me, they smell nothing like those other designer brand scents that every other sheep is wearing. This is the good stuff. The three scents are:
Eau de Cologne – This scent might be the most masculine of the bunch, but not too manly. The scent features heavy notes of powder and wood lend for a clean but complex smell. It smells like nothing else you have smelt before yet seems familiar.The scent features rosemary, orange blossom, musk, cedar, vanilla, sandalwood, patchouli, lavender, artemisia, jasmine, rose, heliotrope, lily-of-the-valley and amber. It’s good.
Eau de Parfum. Helmut Lang himself described this signature scent as “moody.” Just like the cologne, the fragrance features notes fresh baby powder, a mix of floral top notes and a woodsy amber base but with a slight difference. The fragrance features rosemary, lavender, orange blossom, sandalwood, patchouli, artemisia, jasmine, rose, heliotrope, lily-of-the-valley and virginia cedar.
And my personal favourite, Cuiron. It’s very subtle, It’s woodsy divine. Leather and wood make for a warm and masculine scent that works well for both sexes. Top notes are mandarin orange and bergamot; middle notes are cinnamon and pepper; base notes are labdanum, tobacco and suede.
