Built like A Tank

I often wonder why I see so many men wearing Michael by Michael Kors watches. Get a real watch; buy a Nixon. I have owned one for years and consider it a staple in the watch repertoire. Nixon has built a brand around the $500 price point – which is low to mid price in the watch world. But with a quality to detail you find in higher priced watches.

We make the little shit better. The stuff you have that isn’t noticed first, but can’t be ignored. We pay attention to it. We argue about it. We work day and night to make the little shit as good as it can be, so when you wear it, you feel like you’ve got a leg up on the rest of the world.

Now that’s a brand I can get behind (and one that isn’t afraid to swear); my favourite Nixon is the 51-30 Chrono. Now you just have to decide which finish – I own the matte black but am considering adding some gold to the collection. Mo Money Mo Problems.

Christian has been a cultural and style junkie since the age of 6; while most kids were swiping cookies, he was swiping his grandfathers' Patek Philippe. Raised to appreciate art, fashion, design and  literature (yeah, this one actually reads) by a single mother fondly called Jackie-O. Christian quickly went from childhood cultural capital thief to academia protégé. Referred to as the cat's meow by some, too clever by half by others, Christian eschewed the academic life and ran away to join the circus -the fashion circus. Several well-appointed positions later and a career on the rise would be most people's dream but it was time to say fuck off and start all over again.

This is Christian Dare Unedited.
