I have an affinity for using a weekender bag as my gym bag. That’s right – you should never accept that free gym bag with your membership – you look like a style neophyte with your over-priced shoes and free nylon bag. (And why are you a walking billboard for a place you just paid membership fees to?) But not to worry, I am here to save your day.

The Weekendtaske bagfrom Leather Projects (Copenhagen) is a classic style with a twist, unlike the usual zipper hardware,  this one has a double belt enclosure lopped around the body of the bag. The leather is cleanly cut and stitched with bold seams, making for a simple yet bold look.

The Hockey Bag from M0851 (Montreal) has been my go to bag for years. It is made with amazingly supple leather that last for years and only gets better with age. I have had mine for over 10 years and it just keeps getting better; as this bag ages, it gets softer and slouchier – perfection.

The Deurne 48 Hr Getaway Duffel from Want: les essentiels de la vie (Montreal),  is the perfect size for a gym bag. Inspired by a vintage London doctor’s bag, the Deurne updates a historic, utilitarian piece for the 21st-century. The leather is soft and supple but thanks to the construction of this bag, it always holds its rigid modern shape.

Christian has been a cultural and style junkie since the age of 6; while most kids were swiping cookies, he was swiping his grandfathers' Patek Philippe. Raised to appreciate art, fashion, design and  literature (yeah, this one actually reads) by a single mother fondly called Jackie-O. Christian quickly went from childhood cultural capital thief to academia protégé. Referred to as the cat's meow by some, too clever by half by others, Christian eschewed the academic life and ran away to join the circus -the fashion circus. Several well-appointed positions later and a career on the rise would be most people's dream but it was time to say fuck off and start all over again.

This is Christian Dare Unedited.
