I will be honest, shopping for great bedding can be a real pain in the ass, even for us so-called style experts. I am often on the hunt for something modern yet not generic and an an all white bed can get boring after a while, that’s when I turn to the Ace Hotel. The Ace Hotel has partnered with major fashion and textile designers each time they open a new hotel, creating custom finishes per location and this includes bedding.  Upon a recent trip to LA, I immediately fell in love with the Mondrian inspired blankets from Pendleton.

Made at Oregon’s Pendleton Woolen Mills and designed by Commune, these blankets are the perfect blend of modernist and traditional; a great choice for your summer home in Algonquin. And you don’t even have to try to stuff it into your suitcase, you can order them online ($450). But if that is too much colour for you – you should also check out the APC x ACE London quilt ($800). Trust me, you can’t go wrong with either choice (and here’s a tip always buy one size bigger than your bed – the fit will be better).

Christian has been a cultural and style junkie since the age of 6; while most kids were swiping cookies, he was swiping his grandfathers' Patek Philippe. Raised to appreciate art, fashion, design and  literature (yeah, this one actually reads) by a single mother fondly called Jackie-O. Christian quickly went from childhood cultural capital thief to academia protégé. Referred to as the cat's meow by some, too clever by half by others, Christian eschewed the academic life and ran away to join the circus -the fashion circus. Several well-appointed positions later and a career on the rise would be most people's dream but it was time to say fuck off and start all over again.

This is Christian Dare Unedited.
