Tim Coppens Day?

It seems to be a great day for Tim Coppens.

The luxury menswear brand from New York recently teamed up with sneaker brand Common Projects on an exclusive collection of footwear for Spring/Summer 2014, and it seems the collaboration was well worth the wait. I have to admit that even as a minimalist, I was never a huge fan of Common Projects but I can get down with these kicks.

The line features two styles, both variations of classic Common Projects silhouettes – a high top and a low top. Although I am a big fan of a good high top, I would stick to the slip-on sneakers, with a round toe and low-top. The design works much better on the low top than the high top; it’s just like sometimes you have to buy the shoe in brown leather rather than black just because it works better with that design. This is the same case here but at $725 you can make your bad fashion choices without me but don’t say I didn’t warn you.

Christian has been a cultural and style junkie since the age of 6; while most kids were swiping cookies, he was swiping his grandfathers' Patek Philippe. Raised to appreciate art, fashion, design and  literature (yeah, this one actually reads) by a single mother fondly called Jackie-O. Christian quickly went from childhood cultural capital thief to academia protégé. Referred to as the cat's meow by some, too clever by half by others, Christian eschewed the academic life and ran away to join the circus -the fashion circus. Several well-appointed positions later and a career on the rise would be most people's dream but it was time to say fuck off and start all over again.

This is Christian Dare Unedited.
