Nailed by Neil

Neil Barrett has been nailing it the past few seasons; you have probably seen his collections on Justin Timberlake just as much as you have seen JT rocking Tom Ford. But the key difference between the two designers is their approach to menswear – yes, both cut some fine suits (Barrett’s are a little more razor edged than Tom’s) but what Barrett excels at is modern sportswear that doesn’t look like sportswear. I have to admit, my all time favourite leather jackets have come from Barrett. He just knows. While I will always be a fan of Jil Sander but Jil better watch out – Neil Barrett is stepping into the void of Jil Sanders as that house seems to keep repeating ideas without Raf Simons. Here are some of choices from their early Spring release for 2014 – you know I love my black and blue colour combinations. And besides who doesn’t love Mickey?

Christian has been a cultural and style junkie since the age of 6; while most kids were swiping cookies, he was swiping his grandfathers' Patek Philippe. Raised to appreciate art, fashion, design and  literature (yeah, this one actually reads) by a single mother fondly called Jackie-O. Christian quickly went from childhood cultural capital thief to academia protégé. Referred to as the cat's meow by some, too clever by half by others, Christian eschewed the academic life and ran away to join the circus -the fashion circus. Several well-appointed positions later and a career on the rise would be most people's dream but it was time to say fuck off and start all over again.

This is Christian Dare Unedited.
