Florals for Spring

Groundbreaking. Florals for Spring in Menswear are groundbreaking? Maybe (or maybe not). Many menswear designers did not shy away from over-sized and colourful floral prints. But is this runway trend translatable to the everday man? Well no but he isn’t reading this blog. But, you reader are not the average man, I encourage you to try some florals for Spring – even if you only a floral pair of swim trunks. For those braver souls, try some floral trousers with matching floral shoes (a la Mr. Ford).

Tom Ford showed floral blazers and floral pants – both colourful and oversized in scale; while Dries Van Noten showed some more subdued florals (read, more wearable). Givenchy jumped onto the floral trend. Even Bustle jumped on the floral bandwagon with a tropical twist. This trend is definitely not going to fade into the background; I know I am definitely going to rock some of those Tom Ford florals. If people are going to stare, might as well make it something beautiful to stare at.

Christian has been a cultural and style junkie since the age of 6; while most kids were swiping cookies, he was swiping his grandfathers' Patek Philippe. Raised to appreciate art, fashion, design and  literature (yeah, this one actually reads) by a single mother fondly called Jackie-O. Christian quickly went from childhood cultural capital thief to academia protégé. Referred to as the cat's meow by some, too clever by half by others, Christian eschewed the academic life and ran away to join the circus -the fashion circus. Several well-appointed positions later and a career on the rise would be most people's dream but it was time to say fuck off and start all over again.

This is Christian Dare Unedited.
