Lie like Paul Smith

I am always for bare floors, especially in the summer but for the winter you should roll out a carpet. It not only warms up your feet but also your space. Trouble is, I have always had great difficult in finding the perfect rug – most are either too plain or just too much. And quite frankly most ‘modern’ print rugs look cheap (ie too IKEA). Enter Paul Smith – the lord of menswear prints (yes, I just appointed him that) and his longstanding relationship with The Rug Company. Paul has created three unique designs, all featuring bold graphic prints and cubic forms. “My designs have been a progression of my clothes, shirts and knitwear. My rugs are strong in pattern and form. They fit into today’s interiors adding fun and colour”. Of the three new patterns, I would recommend the Umbra.Screen Shot 2014-01-25 at 10.56.20 AM Screen Shot 2014-01-25 at 10.56.34 AMOr Peaks.Screen Shot 2014-01-25 at 10.59.07 AM Screen Shot 2014-01-25 at 10.59.14 AM

Christian has been a cultural and style junkie since the age of 6; while most kids were swiping cookies, he was swiping his grandfathers' Patek Philippe. Raised to appreciate art, fashion, design and  literature (yeah, this one actually reads) by a single mother fondly called Jackie-O. Christian quickly went from childhood cultural capital thief to academia protégé. Referred to as the cat's meow by some, too clever by half by others, Christian eschewed the academic life and ran away to join the circus -the fashion circus. Several well-appointed positions later and a career on the rise would be most people's dream but it was time to say fuck off and start all over again.

This is Christian Dare Unedited.
