Thom Sails into Summer

As many of my readers already know, I am a big fan of Thom Browne and I know many of you probably find most of his stuff unwearable (and too pricey) but his styling can inform all men on how to dress modern. For SS14, Thom goes Naval Military, which is a refreshing twist on all the military (ie camo) that has pervaded men’s fashion for so long. The tailoring is sharp and extreme; no one does blazers better. The anchor motive on the sleeves is brilliant and who doesn’t want to wear that playful cardigan. And as opposed to Tom Ford (who thinks Men’s should never wear shorts in the city), Thom Browne shows us how a man can wear shorts successfully in the city.

And I will say it again, those anchors on the bicep are the shit; sailor tattoos go upscale.

The cardigan is the perfect balance of humor and wit.

Christian has been a cultural and style junkie since the age of 6; while most kids were swiping cookies, he was swiping his grandfathers' Patek Philippe. Raised to appreciate art, fashion, design and  literature (yeah, this one actually reads) by a single mother fondly called Jackie-O. Christian quickly went from childhood cultural capital thief to academia protégé. Referred to as the cat's meow by some, too clever by half by others, Christian eschewed the academic life and ran away to join the circus -the fashion circus. Several well-appointed positions later and a career on the rise would be most people's dream but it was time to say fuck off and start all over again.

This is Christian Dare Unedited.
