Little Toys for Big Boys

For some reason I was never drawn to figurines when I was a child but I now seem to have an affinity for those produced by Kid Robot and Bearbrick. Maybe this is my way of making up for a lost childhood; maybe this is me being dramatic. Either way, Kid Robot and Visionaire have teamed up again to satisfy my need. After they completely sold out with their first run of TOYS Visionaire and Kid Robot team up again to bring ten fresh ‘humanoids’ to their fans; silk-screened with designs from notable brands including Gucci, Helmut Lang and John Galliano. This limited edition of 2000 will sell out again fast. And yes the $2000 price point does seem high for 10 toys but in the end it might be cheaper than therapy. Available at Mr Porter.

Christian has been a cultural and style junkie since the age of 6; while most kids were swiping cookies, he was swiping his grandfathers' Patek Philippe. Raised to appreciate art, fashion, design and  literature (yeah, this one actually reads) by a single mother fondly called Jackie-O. Christian quickly went from childhood cultural capital thief to academia protégé. Referred to as the cat's meow by some, too clever by half by others, Christian eschewed the academic life and ran away to join the circus -the fashion circus. Several well-appointed positions later and a career on the rise would be most people's dream but it was time to say fuck off and start all over again.

This is Christian Dare Unedited.
