BWGH x PUMA

BWGH (Brooklyn We Go Hard) and PUMA have come up with a pretty perfect collaboration – the perfect antidote to the overly colourful sneaker trend comes in blue on blue. And I love blue.

PUMA has previously worked with Jil Sander and Alexander McQueen;  unlike every other sneaker brand they have been very selective with their collaborations, always picking the perfect designer for their brand. And they have done it again with contemporary Parisian menswear brand, Brooklyn We Go Hard (BWGH). Making over the classic R698 model, inspiration was taken from painter Mark Rothko who was known for his obsession and use of bold colors – especially blues.

The sneakers pay tribute to both brands, using a combination of suede, mesh and bouclé knit in tints of pure blue, rounded off with mottled laces. Available online December 7th.

Christian has been a cultural and style junkie since the age of 6; while most kids were swiping cookies, he was swiping his grandfathers' Patek Philippe. Raised to appreciate art, fashion, design and  literature (yeah, this one actually reads) by a single mother fondly called Jackie-O. Christian quickly went from childhood cultural capital thief to academia protégé. Referred to as the cat's meow by some, too clever by half by others, Christian eschewed the academic life and ran away to join the circus -the fashion circus. Several well-appointed positions later and a career on the rise would be most people's dream but it was time to say fuck off and start all over again.

This is Christian Dare Unedited.
