The only CDC you really need to know about is not the Centre for Disease Control but rather the Le Cabinet de Curiosités (of Thomas Erber). We are all going to die anyway, might as well live fashionably.

First launched in 2010, Thomas Erber has been curating a pop-up shop featuring some of the most talented designers and best brands, asking them to create special one of a kind pieces for his Cabinet de Curiosités. The first ever pop-up was in Paris at colette in 2010, followed by Browns in London in 2011, and then last year he chose Berlin’s Andreas Murkudis. Lucky for New Yorkers, Erber will be setting up at the Nomad Hotel’s Maison Kitsuné boutique, and NoLIta’s Avant/Garde Diaries Project Space in December 2013 for a limited run – December 3rd – 23rd.

One of my early favorites, a blacked-out (because I love all things blacked out), sheepskin-lined leather jacket from Maison Kitsuné. Note, this piece is a limited edition of two. If you have to ask, you can’t afford it.

Christian has been a cultural and style junkie since the age of 6; while most kids were swiping cookies, he was swiping his grandfathers' Patek Philippe. Raised to appreciate art, fashion, design and  literature (yeah, this one actually reads) by a single mother fondly called Jackie-O. Christian quickly went from childhood cultural capital thief to academia protégé. Referred to as the cat's meow by some, too clever by half by others, Christian eschewed the academic life and ran away to join the circus -the fashion circus. Several well-appointed positions later and a career on the rise would be most people's dream but it was time to say fuck off and start all over again.

This is Christian Dare Unedited.
