Gin has become the new go-to booze of choice amongst the fashion and hipster crowds of London UK, this trend will surely cross the pond soon enough. One of the gin classics that is making a comeback is the Negroni; thought to have been invented in Florence in 1919, when Count Camillo Negroni asked a bartender to boost the strength of his Americano by replacing the soda with gin.
So give thanks and knock a few back.
Recipe:
Mix 1 oz gin with 1 oz sweet vermouth and 1 oz Campari over ice in a rocks glass and stir.
Garnish with an orange slice or peel.
