BOWIElessons

David Bowie is an undisputed fashion icon. He is known for his over the top style and pushing the boundaries of gender. But there are several lessons we all can glean from his style evolution.

1. Statement jackets. These show up season after season on most runway shoes. Invest in one you love. It’s classic.

2. Don’t be afraid of colour.  Colour should either be used sparingly or go all out. Balls to the wall (is that the expression?) There is no middle ground in style.

3. WideLeg Trousers are pretty fucking cool. Mix up your wardrobe; a wardrobe of only skinny jeans makes you boring. And if you want to be boring, why are you reading my blog?

4. The Devil  Style is in the Details.  The perfectly angled hat; the coat; the manicure. Pay attention to the little things.

5. Men, buy a trench coat already. That is all.

Christian has been a cultural and style junkie since the age of 6; while most kids were swiping cookies, he was swiping his grandfathers' Patek Philippe. Raised to appreciate art, fashion, design and  literature (yeah, this one actually reads) by a single mother fondly called Jackie-O. Christian quickly went from childhood cultural capital thief to academia protégé. Referred to as the cat's meow by some, too clever by half by others, Christian eschewed the academic life and ran away to join the circus -the fashion circus. Several well-appointed positions later and a career on the rise would be most people's dream but it was time to say fuck off and start all over again.

This is Christian Dare Unedited.
