I was that kid in high school who had horrible hand-writing until I discovered my love for fountain pens. The pen improved my writing even as it left ink marks on my fingertips (which I wore as a badge of honour). This weekend I re-discovered my love of fountain pens by way of a trip to WonderPens on Dundas W (Toronto ON). You can read many reviews on other blogs about this new store dedicated to penmanship and paper, as such, I will keep my entry briefs. They have a great selection of writing instruments and a fair selection of paper ( I am still partial to Moleskin – which they do not seem to carry but Leuchtturm1917 is a close second place in my opinion). I walked away with this amazing pen. Pricey but worth it.Image

Image Sailor brand pens are known for their amazing nibs (made in Japan) but I fell in love with the colour and anchor (on the cap). Don’t worry, you can order yours online if you can’t make it to the storefront.  Now, it’s time to recapture the art of handwritten notes.

Christian has been a cultural and style junkie since the age of 6; while most kids were swiping cookies, he was swiping his grandfathers' Patek Philippe. Raised to appreciate art, fashion, design and  literature (yeah, this one actually reads) by a single mother fondly called Jackie-O. Christian quickly went from childhood cultural capital thief to academia protégé. Referred to as the cat's meow by some, too clever by half by others, Christian eschewed the academic life and ran away to join the circus -the fashion circus. Several well-appointed positions later and a career on the rise would be most people's dream but it was time to say fuck off and start all over again.

This is Christian Dare Unedited.
